Why don't you people read. Do anyone one of you un derstand the concept of the clash? WC vs UK CUP on ly the sounds that played in these dances for thos e promoters.This is an all-star game why pick lame duck sounds. Some of those sounds in England that was in UK could not even make it to the 3rd round ! I understand why both promoters picked who they picked. In a all-star game I wanna see Dwight Howa rd instead of David Lee who the hell what's to see Eric Gordan over Kobe. All sounds mentioned have played in UK Cup Clash a nd World Clash on multiple occasions I just would have thought that a Saxon/Injection/V Rocket would have given the clash a different type of element. ..Problem is that everybody is complaining about a stagnant industry but keep on with the same 8-10 sounds. Financially it does make sense I cannot l ie about this, but I have a feeling that there is an small element of same ol here....I will try and make it because I believe that Chin honestly love s this shit...

Bobby.. I concept of the clash is for each team to use sounds that made an impact on each event. Som e of the sounds your listed were ever even billed for an UK CUP CLASH line up lol.. However immortal could have been a good pick.. because they did we ll. Nevertheless, ONE LOVE did well also.

I have attended every UK Cup from 2002 & every Win ner Takes All & a good amount of the “Road to winn er takes All” as well. I am sorry, as much a s I rate Rodigan. We don’t recognise ourselves or 50 plus years of soundsystem culture in him.

What a lot of people outside of the UK don’t realise i s Rodigan learn about Soundsystem culture in Engla nd from UK sound men, before he first ever travel to Jamaica. He has never been in a serious clash w ith UK sounds much less beat any one my Knowledge. Rodigan to us, is a novelty you bring in once a y ear to attract the oldies set. How many people tha t go dance actually listen to Rodigan on Capital R adio? He don’t even advertise dance’s on his show. Rodigan's novelty is rated more across the world than he is in the UK....

In 2003 Reggaegirls approached many UK sounds to e nter an event to find the new blood in UK clash so unds to rep & enter UK Cup. The model was Winner T akes All. A lot of the big name brand sounds refus ed. But sounds entered. The Sounds that stand out Are Immortal, X-ta-C, Classique, Tubby’s, Will Pow a, I take it as an insult to these sounds includin g Luv Injection. Knowing how much has been investe d by these sounds in time, effort & money based on a promise that they will be the UK representative s for this Promoter in the future. Only now to be overlooked with not one repping the UK except for this OLD WHITE MAN Rodigan. Valerie what happen to all those Black youths & sounds that put themselv es on the line in your events. You rate One Love o ver them? How many times One Love play UK cup? Hav e they repped for you more than Luv Injection or I mmortal?

Because it takes great deal of money to get a l ocal sound prepared to clash only once a year at t he level of these established international sounds that are on a two or three consecutive I&C clash dates deal.

My conclusion is, if the premier clas h promoter in the UK has no faith in the UK sounds you can’t really blame the rest of the world to l ook at us the same way.

I hear a lot of what you have said but I believe t hat the problem here in the UK is that the UK some times suffers from a loss of identity music wise.. .e.g. We had people like Top Cat, Levi etc but th ey seemed to change when the music did...they expl oded on the reggae scene..but then jummped on the Junglist ting..then the garage ting..(Be patient w ith this point here)..I am about 35 now...I was on e of the few that stuck with dancehall..if I took a poll of 10 of my friends...then probably on 10% (Me) consistantly listens to sound tapes...SO...if I am a promoter and fully know that the average c lub goer is between 18-30 but their musical refere nce is the latest fad...e.g right now it is funky house/dubstep...how do I get them to support a CUL TURE that has not been supported here for so long. .This is why I ask the older promoters "Why di d you not fight for our culture when other music c ame in" I don't know if you have read my rant s before, but I always keep ...

Sound Clash is not a Black or White thing, it is a bout music.. One Love has done ok in UK Cup clash , but i will say Immortal has done ok also. But, make no mistake RODIGAN IS THE BOSS! he has perfo rmed better then all the uk sounds in both WORLD C LASH AND UK CUP CLASH!! that's a fact. Reggae gi rls made a line up of the best sounds for their ev ent.. your people are not following the concept. My US WORLD CLASH TEAM does not have a US sound, and no US sound are bitching because of it...

Rodigan is the only sound from the UK with a gobal fan base. UK sounds talk a good one, but they ha ve no rating out of their home towns... well i agree with u, and 1 of the reasons y Mr.Rod igan is so far ahead of the UK sounds is because h e has personality and he knows how to please a cro wd, does he make mistakes sure but who doesnt. ano ther reason is most UK sounds dont know how to pla y out of the Uk when they come to ny they flop the y think the dubs they play in the UK is good enoug h and its not and everyone knows ny is very hard t o play u gotta come good or else. the first time i ever saw Rodigan play live was in Amazura vs Body guard the line was around the block (yes i cut the line) Rodigan made mistakes but could have easily walked away with the victory in fact the crowd wa s behind him 100% but in the honor of fairness he gave it to bodyguard and fire links then know as l inks jumped up in the air and said "mi cant be leive mi win"

Well said Irish and Chin, but wat i think u lot sh ould of done for this clash is put a VETERAN SOUND on the bill LIKE V.ROCKET, JAVA, SAXON, FRONTLINE , COXSON even TUBBY'S just to bring back a old sch ool clashing vibe wen them sound used to clash eac h other in the early days and same wid US WORLD CL ASH Team sounds like TIPPERTONE, ADDIS or EARTH RU LER which world of made it dat bit more madda, but never the lest this clash on the 10.04.2010 @ Stratford Rex is gonner be big cause all people ar e talking about is the WILD CARD, well im goner be there just to see the surprise.
