On Friday, June 26, 2009, the Long Island Cup Clash was staged by Tek 9 promotions at Giggles Night Club. The clash featured three of Long Island's up and coming sound systems. As many clash fans anticipated, Camouflage took home the trophy. Our sources indicate that the clash had about 250 people in attendance and had up and down
moments. Some describe the clash as boring, while others say it was okay. I definitely think that the concept of this clash was a great one......and should be restaged. However, I think that the second time around the event should include some of Long Island's veteran sounds such as Supatone, Thunder Music to name a few. Having sound like this could increase the attendance and energy surrounding the event.
There is some questions circulating around the authenticity of some of the dubs played. At any rate, kudos to the promoter for keeping the event and big up to all the sounds who participated.
