I can't lie Rootsman let me down big time!! Jill was telling me how good they were but.... I couldn't see it!! I was really expecting them to go in harder. I mean damn! I am not saying they are a bad sound because I did see them in action at Ron Nelson's Fully Loaded. They did good. They played some strong vocals and more nice old songs. But at "The 3 The Hard Way" clash they played like a total different sound. Their selections were off. What I will say is..... the mic man RANGER has a lot of talent. He is the best I have seen in the new world so far. His speeches are on piont. he makes a lot of sense.
Damn!! Shit got rough for Lexxus Supreme. They did not win a round all night. Plus, they were really on some "us against the world" shit. Somebody needs to explain to those dudes that sound clash is a fun thing!! At times, they really got serious -- like they wanted to fight. I do have to talk about the bullshit they did at the beginning of the dance. Jill set up two stations, so that while one sound was playing the next sound could get safe in line to take over the fire. However, one of the stations was furnished with Lexxus Surpreme's equipment, and they said no one could play on it at all. Wow. And they were willing to fight to make sure that never happened! So, here's the problem! The two Canadian sounds were using CDs and Mighty Crown was using Serato. Rootsman played first, and since Crown could not play on Lexxus' equipment, Mighty Crown had to wait until Rootsman finished each round, and hook up their Serato box in the middle of the clash....crazy! Then, after Lexxus Surpreme played, Rootsman had to do a quick sound check in the middle of the clash before playing each round. It was a fucking mess! It stopped the flow of the clash and made the MC talk to much.

Mighty Crown won every round, but I think they could have done better! They have to step it up next week in Atlanta! Trooper hates them big time !!!!
Big up to Ron Nelson. It was so nice to see him at the clash. We had our differences in the past, but he is a good person and has done a lot for the sound systems in Canada. We had a long talk on his radio program about the state of the industry and what changes need to be made. I look forward to linking up with him in the future.
