shabbaIt's official, Grammy award-winning deejay Shabba Ranks will be making a long awaited return to Reggae Sumfest.  The timing couldn't be any better, as Reggae Sumfest wanted to celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a bang! Shabba first appeared on the Reggae Sumfest stage in 1994, in the height of his musical explosion.  Fans are thrilled about the deejay's return, as he boasts scores of Dancehall anthems to unleash on the audience.

Shabba is truly a pioneer of Reggae, scoring underground and crossover success. While his catalogue is too broad to mention all of the hits by name, some of his all-time favorite staples are "Ting a Ling," "Wicked Inna Bed," "Mr. Loverman,"and "Live Blanket." Shabba revolutionized the Jamaican music industry and proudly became the first Reggae artist to win a coveted Grammy Award. The power and magnitude of Shabba Ranks is undeniable, as he also served as a flagship for American rap and is credited with creating the popular style of music "Reggaeton" with controversial single "Dem Bow."

Reggae Sumfest is ready to Re-embrace the epic performer Shabba Ranks who will headline the concert on the same night as Trey Songz and the newly confirmed R. Kelly. There is no doubt that Shabba Rannks will royally heat up the Sumfest stage, which dually celebrates the festivals 20th Anniversary and Jamaica's 50th year of Independence with a musical journey through the decades.
