Since February's celebration of Black History Month has ended, Irishandchin.com sat down with top radio personality Dub Master of New York's IrieJam radio for an exclusive tell-all, camera interview and to ask the question: Will Kartel's music be placed back into rotation in March? Irishandchin.com asks where things go from here? The interview, which is a must see, offers the massive well orchestrated answers to the questions that many have. Dub Master confidently addresses the suspension, how it came about, what gave him the right and the subsequent response/affect.
In the beginning of February, Black History Month to be exact, IrieJam radio made a glaring statement on Vybz Kartel's bleaching by suspending his music from their programming. The station didnt' feel that someone who bleached their skin supported the notion of black upliftment -- a central theme of the month-long celebration. Since IrieJam's actions, there has been a whirlwind of controversy in the media on Kartel's new image. The controversial story has been picked up by numerous radio and tv media outlets, even sparking the interest of top New York Hip Hop station Hot 97, who featured an interview with Kartel on their morning show.
