Taking "Sound Chat" on the road was a great vibe!! Madddddd! Hearing the views of clash fans was a good eye opener for me. Even though the clash industry is suffering greatly, there are still clash fans out there who have not given up on the sport. They love it the same way. They give me the energy needed to keep fighting to bring a thrill to the arena.
The night started out with me asking clash fans who they thought would win the competition as they entered the venue. The votes were mixed. Some said King Addies, while others put their confidence in Black Kat and Supersonic. There were no votes for Yard Beat and Rootsman. And of course, most votes were for King Addies! However, by the time the clash was over, no one had a clear understanding of who won.
Among Brooklyn's clash fans, I spoke to some popular people who have played a role in the arena over the last 10 years. Some of the people I chatted with include Red Face (tape vendor), Lee Major (selector of Brooklyn's Earth Ruler), Drew H.I.M. ( DHR), DJ Roy (radio personality) were among top discussants.
Also, I caught up with Kila Boo ( King Addies), Panther, Supersonic, and Rootsman after the clash. They all gave me their take on the event. NO, I did not get Baby Face on camera! After getting those booooos, I was hoping to have a field day with him..lol. I heard he was inside calling me a BATTY BWOY! But I think he was just scared to come out and face the reality of clash fans telling him to his face that he let them down. It's classic footage that will bring a nice vibe to SOUND CHAT.
I hope to have this footage edited and aired by Monday, December 6. I ask that clash fans bare with me though, I am still in New York doing interviews. I will try my best for Monday!! While you wait, enjoy photos from Global Clash: http://www.irishandchin.com/photos/ajamu-photography/caught-u-by-ajamu/andrew-d-global-clash-december-2-2010.
