Walking My Own Path

Chin_Obama_picThe more I venture into different avenues of Jamaican Entertainment -- the more I realize how much talent and promise our people have to offer the world.  We've been blessed with a very influential culture full of great music and remarkable actors.  The sad thing is... despite all the above.. we still fail to move forward.
One of our biggest problems is.. and has always been, ignorance.  We think we know every "FUCKIN" thing, but yet we don't know SHIT!  We set rules on how others should live their lives, yet we don't follow the rules ourselves. We've created a life in which the dancehall educates and/or dictates to us what's right from wrong.   At the same time, we accept contradicting actions from those who create this very same music (smiling).  We tend to fight and/or become intimidated by those who think for themselves and have the ability to venture outside the boundaries set by the dancehall.
Such actions have been going on since the beginning of time and I don't expect them to change for Irish and Chin. Never-the-less, I won't allow my company to limit it's reach in fear of dancehall fans feeling we are  "SELLING OUT."  By the way... I find it funny that some confuse "GROWTH" with "SELLING OUT."
Months ago the world enjoyed a video RickyTrooper did in my honor.  Truth be told.. I did too.  It was funny shit.  But on a serious note....it showed how stupid we tend to view situations.  A cast member in a play is rumored to be a "batty mon".....therefore the promoter is a "batty mon" for promoting the play even though the play does not bear a homosexual plot.
Again, what separates Irish and Chin from the rest is our ability to stand strong behind all of our decisions with no regard for the views of people like Ricky Trooper!
With this said, I would like to thank everyone who came out this summer to support one or more of our five stagings of the play "Serious Business."  It was a blast!  We could not ask for more.  The turn out for all shows was great and the laughter kept pouring in.  Last weekend, we closed the curtain on the play with encore performances in Brooklyn and Queens.   Both were well attended -- so we must be doing something RIGHT!! lol.   Congratulations to the 5 raffle winners.  They went home with one of the following prizes: A 40" flat screen, A love seat and sofa, a dinning room set.
Next up....... REEEWIND inna Dancehall Stylee and "The Plumber" another hit play out of Jamaica.

Look..It's this same kind of ignorance and stupidity that's hindering the progress of dancehall music...Let's see what these ignoranrt asses will do when the rest of the world keep shutting their doors..The Money pool is shrinking..Can' t u express ur selves without inflicting pain and degredation on other human beings..as far i see the only people suffering are the Same stupid Dancehall acts..Lets see how much revenue the shrinking Dancehall economy in jamaica can generate for ,the slew of acts,,Dj's selectas..I am a diehard dancehall fan..but the nonsense has to end..they need to wake up...find better lyrics...be creative..and the whole heap of SUCK YUH MADDA need to stop 2..Come on Selectas..BIG UP IRIS AND CHIN

The plays display the greatness of our diversely talented Jamaican people. The infusion of dancehall and theatre makes for a brilliant blend. Individuals of all ages and walks of life were clearly entertained. Keep them coming. Well done!
