Boiling Situation in Jamaica

It seems like the situation surrounding Dudus and his extradition is flowing through the media. Everyone seems to have mixed views about the issue. This weekend,a few persons called into the radio station and voiced their opinion on the matter. Basically, there are those that think the Prime Minster was wrong for signing the paper and others feel he did the right thing.

Some argue that because the Prime Minster refused to sign the extradition paper work sooner, it resulted in business men and artists loosing their US visas, among other US restrictions. Others are upset because the paper are now signed and a warrant has been issued for Dudus' arrest. Residents of the Garrison community have been caught on camera saying that the are willing to die for Dudus and that they will not let him be arrested without a fight -- to say the least.

I thought it would be interesting to hear the views of the irishandchin bloggers on this one. So, talk to me! Should Dudus be sent to the US or should he be allowed to stay in Jamaica?

And while we\'re on the topic I would just like to say CONGRATS !!! to out security forces. Bravo, well done..these treasonous thugs are basically betraying their nation for dudus free curry goat and rice and the occasional big dance and should be exterminated and disposed of like the vermin they are..I hope the free food from presi was worth their lives..the people in these garrisons need to be rededucated as to what the national anthem and pledge means, then they\'ll realise that they have an obligation to the nation of Jamaica, that TG is nothing when the survival of Jamaica as a viable state is at stake

I think he should be extradited to the US. He may be a savior to the people in West Kingston who are used to being coddled by various benefactors but he\'s a liability to Jamaica\'s forward progress as a nation. Would be nice if th US could take him off our hands and not let him return. I think he has enough money to pay for his defence, don\'t u ?

its time for jamaican government to smarten up and stop blaiming the dons for corrupting the island. the govs are the one\'s who make don\'s get so powerful to the piont where the don\'s seem like they run the island. the govs need to open there eyes and look in the history books of politicains who support the dons in there wrong doings and look at all the out come of it. im not blameing bruce he just did what the rest of them did and know jamaica has its own pablo escobar. jamaica govs know see the out come of haveing dons running ares of the island the govs should start getting rid of anyman who says hes a let them know that there is only one don and its the priminster and tye people of J.A should stop all the GAZA and GULlY BULLSHIT there is no gaza or gully its JAMAICA thats it rep the country \" OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE\"!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

This man has more control than the Prime Minster. He is the DON. Maybe they should leave him alone. People are losing their life for nothing.

first of all i would like to say to my jamaican ppl that war is not the answer. with that being said, i think jamaica needs to be cleaned of coruption from the root but for that to happen it is gonna take more than extraditing dudus from jamaica but also get out the corrupted polititions, with all the attention on dudus, ppl who support the act of the government to get him out and restore peace fail to realise that these are the same polititions who gave him so much power and not only that but supported him all these years and now that the situation has escalated they want to blame him \"dudus\" for all the mess. i dont support dons.criminals, thugs etc. but i think that instead of suffering the loss of alot of civilian, gunmen ,police and soldiers lives, they should have tried to resolve this matter some other way. furthermore i am angered at the extrdition order because if it was the other way around could we \"Jamaica\" go to their country to extradite someone accused of any crime?? im just saying this is just my opinion. binladen is the worlds most deadliest and most wanted man in the world and they cant find him to prosecute him but beause our country is weak and dont have any sy in the world they want to come and get their man \"dudus\" by any means, while not giving a damn about the country. to how i see it they want to turn ou island like how they did iraq, come and kill the \"don\" then try to slowly take over. jamaica was built on corruption since we got independence, so killing or locking away one man not going to stop nothing but make it worse! i dont defend him in anyway but im just looking at the big picure, because we all know he is not innocent but hey, they knew that all along but at the end of the day politics is gonna be politics.

Good question Chin, but Jamaica needs to start over now.Things ain\'t right down there and it has been that way for a long time.Politician s and Dons have been playing people for fools for far too long while the people still suffereing. The crime rate is high and the politicians can\'t create employment for the people.Sending Dudus to the US might show the rest of the Dons, the politicians and Jamaicans that the only people with the power is the US.This might be a good lesson for Jamaican to think about who they want to embrace.Jamaica n might start voting for better politicians now and those who can find jobs for them.It looks like US decided that the Dons will not be there anymore.
