There was so much confusion after this one. It got crazy! Cheering and booing was taking place at the same time. Some were happy, while others were disappointed. Welcome to the world of cut throat sound clashing....lol. The clash was 4 rounds with a mandatory "tune fi tune" round. No point system was put in place, indicating that it was a fight to the finish.
Supersonic won the first and second round, Mighty Crown took the third, Supersonic took the fourth. I didn't agree with the score..... home court advantage is a motherfucker. Nevertheless, the crowd had the final say). In the "tune fi tune" round, Mighty Crown won 10 straight (by my count). Supersonic said it was 7 to 3. Whatever it was, Mighty Crown won the "tune fi tune" round by far.
The MC was then called to determine who won the clash. Instead of just asking who won the clash, he gave a speech. His words were something like "don't just look at 'tune fi tune' -- look at the whole clash, all the rounds. " Did Mighty Crown win 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round, 4th round and tune fi tune? Or did Super Sonic win 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round, 4th round and tune fi tune?" This was asked at least twice with a different result each time. In the end, Supersonic was declared the sound with the most votes. Problem!!! They had just lost the "tune fi tune" badly. How did they win? Well, the promoter, despite announcing that the rounds would not be scored, said the winner must be judged on their overall performance, not just the ending of the clash? Wow! So, it was a two sound clash with no rules at all, but winning "tune fi tune" meant nothing? Not sure if I agree with this one!!
What was the reason for "tune fi tune" I asked? The promoter said because the people wanted to see it! Hmmm! So this means that "tune fi tune" has to be different in Europe I thought. "Tune fi tune" in our world is the deciding factor. You can't lose "tune fi tune" and win a clash unless there is a point system in place that allows such behavior. A good example is Death Before Dishonor 10. Sentinel won all the rounds and tripped in "tune fi tune." Therefore, the cup was awarded to Black Kat, the winner of "tune fi tune." Nevertheless, if the clash was being judged by rounds, Sentinel would have won and there would be no need for a "tune fi tune" round. Once you play "tune fi tune," it's a whole different ball game.
I don't agree with Supersonic's victory, but big dem up still. They are a great sound. And they are locking Europe. It was a good clash. Some good songs were played. There was a lot of fuckery too. But hey... Europeans give forwards for some of the strangest tunes still. You can't judge this dance by the audio trust me!! You had to be there. The dubs from both sounds will be misleading. Lol Mighty Crown mi sey straight pon this one!! Nah tek back mi talk! Sound clash runs under one order... win "tune fi tune" you win de clash!! But, it is... what it is!!!
